Blayney Chess Club 2007 NSW Country Reserve Team Champions

The 1st Blayney Open Chess Tournament was played on Sept 8th-9th 2007 at the Blayney Bowling Club. With 34 players participating, it has to be rated as one of the better tournaments conducted by a small country club. Outright winner was Lee Jones with a remarkable 6 wins from 6 games, 2nd place was taken out by David Castor with 5 pts, and Fritz Van der Wal was 3rd with 4.5 pts. The Under 1600 division was won by Gary Losh with 4 from 6, and the Under 1200 division was won by Helen Aylwin and Ramon Aich.

The Blayney Chess Club is looking forward to an even bigger and better event in 2008.
